Dr. Balta has 20 plus years of experience in Psychiatry and Addiction. He is a bilingual practitioner, Board Certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine and a member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine. He is certified in Neurology, Psychiatry and Psychoanalysis. Dr. Balta has directed state and federal licensure and certification requirements for freestanding psychiatric facilities in Florida. He developed an integrated model of care incorporating 12 step principles, psychodynamic and pharmacological interventions. He has directed the appropriation of major grants for substance abuse and mental health programs in New York and Florida. Dr. Balta is a compassionate and invested professional dedicated to the field of recovery.
Dr. Maria Pilar Marull-Balta
Dr. Balta has 20 plus years of experience in medicine. She is a bilingual practitioner, Board Certified physician and opiate treatment specialist. She has served as Medical Director for adolescent residential treatment facilities in New York as well as developed and directed a network of successful primary clinics in New York. She is the Associate Medical Director at Balta Psychiatric Consultation in charge of toxicology reviews and medical record compliance. Dr. Balta is passionate about the field of recovery and dedicated to providing clients with the utmost in quality care.

Nathan Fears is a certified therapist, interventionist, consultant, recovery coach, speaker and trainer with more than 30 years experience working in the addiction treatment field. He developed the first dual diagnosis treatment program for adolescents in the country while serving as program director for Fairview hospital in Minneapolis, MN. He has successfully completed hundreds of interventions for adults and adolescents dealing with a variety of issues, including substance abuse, eating disorders, behavioral disorders, self-harm behaviors, gang behavior, satanic worship, and sexual offending. Mr. Fears has served as CEO for reputable behavioral health hospitals such as Fair Oaks in New Jersey and The Family Treatment Program in Sunrise, FL. He has developed and implemented numerous treatment programs for adults and adolescents throughout the United States. He has co-authored numerous books and articles in USA Today, Ebony and Jet magazines and served as a consultant for a TV movie starring Ed Asner. Mr. Fears is a dedicated, highly competent, experienced professional who has dedicated his life to helping those trapped in the clutches of addiction.
Dr. Carolina Alfonso
Clinical Director, Licensed Bilingual Psychologist
Carolina currently serves as Clinical Director for Fallen Leaves Recovery Center. Carolina earned her undergraduate and Specialist degrees from Florida International University in Miami , Fl. and her Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. She has an impressive range of experiences in organizational growth and leadership including management, development and expansion in the private and public sector. As a psychologist, she has worked with individuals and families struggling with addiction, depression, anxiety, ADHD and learning and developmental disorders. She is passionate about this work because of the difference it has made in her own life. Prior to her role at Fallen Leaves Recovery, Carolina gained a niche working with start-up organizations helping them grow and prosper. Carolina also enjoys a collaborative. professional relationship with many local universities serving as a clinical supervisor and professor for graduate level psychology students. Carolina is a mother of three and enjoys cooking, painting and travel. She is fluent in Spanish and English and possesses an uncanny ability to relate, interact and provide compassionate, competent care to those in need.

Mark comes to Fallen leaves Recovery with over 10 years experience in the health care field. Mark’s work tenure began in Somerset, New Jersey and has continued throughout S. Florida. Mark believes that every addict is capable of recovery and deserves the respect, care and competence that Fallen Leaves has to offer. Mark has played a critical role in the supervision and management of partial hospitalization, detoxification and residential therapy. Mark’s primary goal is providing knowledgeable and compassionate crisis intervention and a safe living environment.
Primary Therapist/Clinical Supervisor
Dexter Green, Clinical Supervisor, comes to Fallen Leaves Recovery with extensive experience in substance use and co-occurring disorders. Originally from New York and New Jersey, he has lived and worked in South Florida for the past five years. He started his career in Human Services and Counseling in 1999. Dexter graduated with a Master of Arts in Education in 2005 from New Jersey City University. He also furthered his education and gained extensive experience in behavior modification, dual diagnosis, and substance abuse through the counseling of adult incarcerated offenders. Dexter is also a Master Level Addiction Professional (MCAP), Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist (CCTP), Certified Criminal Justice Addiction Professional (CCJAP), Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT) and Internationally Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (ICADC).
Dexter promotes a holistic approach to treatment and places the client as the central point of focus. “The client is bigger than the addiction and is not defined by the addictive behavior in the recovery process.” For the last five years his counseling has been focused on addiction, relapse prevention, and trauma to assist people with addictions to maintain a successful life of recovery.

With over 30 years of healthcare experience in Comprehensive Integrative Medicine, Dr. Patrece Frisbee brings a wealth of expertise, knowledge, and a unique blend of evidence-based Integrative Medicine Services to SoBe Well, adding an invaluable component to a program dedicated to long-term results.
As the leading expert in Integrative Medicine within the addiction community, Dr. Patrece Frisbee is a Doctor of Chiropractic and Board Certified in Acupuncture, Addiction Medicine and Compulsive Disorders. She also holds a Diplomate as an Addictionologist, is a Nutritionist, Recovery Coach, published author and has more than 30 years of healthcare management experience. Dr. Frisbee brings passionate energy to every endeavor and possesses an uncommon ability to harness a diverse spectrum of disciplines for the benefit of her patients. Beginning her professional life with a Doctorate Degree of Chiropractic, Dr. Frisbee went on to receive certifications in Acupuncture from the University of Miami School of Medicine, Herbology from Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Oriental Medicine from China Medical University in Beijing.
The year 2000 founding of her mobile wellness business allows her to reach a broader audience serving treatment centers, sober living homes and high-end residential clientele. Her boundless enthusiasm for personal interaction coupled with her strong leadership and healthcare management skills enables Dr. Frisbee to bring a wealth of assets to SoBe Well and most importantly to her clients.
Dr. Nancy Gomez, D.C., LMT
Executive Director of CAMP SoBe Well
Dr. Nancy Gomez is a Doctor of Chiropractic and licensed massage therapist. Dr. Gomez became interested in the human body and kinetics while studying theater during her undergraduate years. She deepened her knowledge of the healing modalities while in massage therapy school and later with Whole Health Chicago, the holistic medical office where she sharpened her clinical massage skills in pain management and fibromyalgia.
In 2009, she received her chiropractic degree at the National University of Health Sciences in Chicago, IL. As a practicing chiropractor, she continued to integrate her massage knowledge with nutrition, rehabilitative exercise and chiropractic care. She worked alongside a network of PCPs, orthopedic and pain management specialists as well as holistic practitioners.
Dr. Gomez has had extensive training and experience in treating the whole person through lifestyle coaching and functional medicine. She has attended numerous functional medicine educational conferences including the prestigious AFMCP, a five-day clinical educational conference through the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM). She is also a Certified First Line Therapy Practitioner (FLT). FLT is a holistic program which offers clients nutritional and lifestyle counseling that is research based, effective, user friendly and personalized.
Dr. Gomez is a native of Miami and is thrilled to be back in her South Florida community serving CAMP SoBe Well clients. Dr. Gomez is the Executive Director of CAMP SoBe Well. Alongside of Founder, Dr. Patrece Frisbee, she has designed and implemented several of the clinical programs within CAMP SoBe Well to offer the most comprehensive holistic support for both physical and mental wellness.
Dr. Gomez firmly believes in the integrative model approach to health care and believes a team approach is critical to guiding an individual to his or her optimum wellbeing.

Domingo Ceballos has been involved in the Healthcare industry for over sixteen years, specializing in substance abuse and mental health operations. His involvement revolves around clinical supervision, program operations management, counseling clinical documentation, administration, utilization management, compliance, business development, project planning, marketing and consulting.
In recent years, his experience has elevated into the world of Electronic Health Records, telemedicine services and data analytics, impacting the evolution of patient care. He continues to be a pioneer of change focusing on the enhancement of client care and the adoption of best practices thus producing the highest levels of care. His focus is consistent with his commitment to the field, where he strives to leave a legacy that believes in its future.
Jehan Mateus serves as the Executive Assistant at Fallen Leaves Recovery. She brings over 7 years of administrative experience in scheduling, correspondence, and providing quality customer service. Jehan’s advanced proficiency in computers and ability to grasp new technologies make her an invaluable asset to the company. Her computer and technical savviness, however, are merely the digital tools through which she displays her real shining light – her people skills. Jehan’s initiative, organized approach and ability to prioritize tasks will allow the company as a whole to reach its objectives.
